Two business outlets pay attention to spiritual traditions being introduced in the corporate world. Self-inquiry is used for “considering leadership with deeper awareness”.
The Grit Daily, a news hub for startups, highlights the work of Bhupendra Chaudhary, a Delhi-born philosopher-scientist, author and researcher. Based in San Francisco, Chaudhary helps companies reconsider their approach to leadership by introducing insights from the science of consciousness and ancient spiritual practices.

Chaudhary “bridges contemplative traditions with managerial science”, so that “business leaders can consider growth and decision-making from awareness and purpose, offering an alternative to reactive management styles”, writes Grit Daily columnist Greg Grzesiak.
Chaudhary’s work is also observed by Forbes magazine’s Georgian edition. In 2023, he published a scientific paper, “Self-Inquiry and the Nature of Consciousness in Contemporary Thought”
According to his personal website, Chaudhury’s life and work “embody the seamless integration of science and spirituality”. He has an academic background in business management, philosophy and spirituality, and his work draws on modern consciousness research as well as on ancient Eastern wisdom.
Chaudhary has developed research-backed methods that make self-inquiry practical for modern professional settings. Self-inquiry – atma vichara in the Advaita Vedanta spiritual tradition – involves turning one’s attention inward to investigate the nature of the ‘I’ or Self. It is “a method for considering leadership with deeper awareness and fewer blind spots”, Chaudhury explained in a recent address referenced in the Grit Daily article.
Practicing self-inquiry “enables leaders to witness the diminishing of bias, noise, and projection, enabling decisions that are clean, clear, and causally aligned”, writes Grzesiak.
Chaudhury adds ‘CQ’, consciousness intelligence, to the familiar IQ and EQ concepts. CQ is described as “a cornerstone of conscious ‘capitalism 2.0’”, in which innovation is measured by inner sustainability and collective upliftment.
Organizations using these frameworks report better collaboration, ethical discernment, and executive performance, Grzesiak states.
Chaudhury emphasises that self-inquiry is not just a wellness add-on, but is essential for future-ready organisations.
