The body of scientific research on the hundreds of modalities within Traditional, Complementary & Integrative Medicine is a very small fraction of the research on pharmaceuticals primarily due to a lack of funding and support to explore these; there is exponential support for commercially viable solutions (pharmaceutical treatments) because of self-interest by the industry.

TCIM practices and treatments tend to be more natural and, therefore, don’t always have the commercial appeal within the established research lifecycle.
