Could UAPs, more commonly known as UFOs, be relics of an earlier civilization on Earth, perhaps hundreds of millions of years old? This proposition is put forth in an essay by Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb.
“This possibility would overcome the challenges associated with UAPs arriving to Earth through interstellar travel”, he writes.
Avi Loeb heads the Galileo Project, which searches for technological signatures of extraterrestrial civilizations.
Loeb became widely noted in mainstream media when he suggested that a strange interstellar object that was discovered in the solar system in 2017, Oumuamua, could be an artificial artifact. Most scientists assume it was an asteroid.
